Prague

After spending all of January in London our feet were itchy for a bit more travel. We picked Prague because we'd heard it was quite a good place to visit in winter. We went last weekend and arrived to mild snow around lunch time on Friday. Everyone says how beautiful the architecture is and I totally agree. I wasn't aware of the unusual and sometimes humorous sculptures around the city though. This was my favourite:

Wenceslas on an upside down horse in a shopping arcade:

Giant babies climbing on the Zizkov TV tower:

This one speaks for itself:

I'm sure everyone who goes to Prague has one of these photos in front of the astronomical clock:

Snowing at the castle:

And the famous Charles Bridge built in the 15th century...

After climbing 299 steps this is the view from the top of the lookout tower on Petrin Hill:

An amazing baroque building with the Powder Tower behind:

Nick's birthday dinner at Maze was delicious! Here's the birthday boy...

Snow day

It started snowing on Sunday night and when we woke there was 30cms of snow... it was just magical! And, everyone seemed to be in such a good mood (probably because most people didn't go to work). The city pretty much shut down with the almost all the trains and buses suspended. I was able to walk to work though but Nick stayed at home and took photos for the day ;-)

This is me out the front of mews that we recently moved to:

And Hyde Park... I'm hoping it snows more!
