May Bank Holiday weekend #2

We decided to stay in London for the second May Bank Holiday weekend and as Saturday was forecast to have the best weather we decided to go to Brighton for the day. After an easy 55min train ride we followed the crowds down to the beach and then for a walk along the pier with its tacky amusement parlour and rides - the highlight being the Helter Skelter ride of Beatles fame. This is a picture of the pebbled beach with the pier in the background.

We then found the Royal Pavillion which was built by George IV. It's very surprising as it is done in an Indian style and its interior is Chinoisie. It has two amazing rooms - the banqueting hall and the music room (no photos allowed). Here's Nick out the front.

We then went on to discover why people said Brighton was so nice - there's an intricate network of little lane ways and shops and cafes to keep you entertained.
